Police Corporal Steve Olson receives Officer of the Year Award
CSU Stanislaus Police Corporal Steve Olson receive the Stanislaus Civitan Club Officer of the Year Award recently for his outstanding service.
Olson conducts department training as a Range Master, Taser Instructor, and Field Training Officer. He reviews all police reports for accuracy and quality.
Olson’s ability to detect and apprehend violators makes him one of the most proactive and productive officers in the department, University Police Department Chief Steve Jaureguy noted. Olson is credited with dozens of arrests over the last year helping to keep the CSU Stanislaus campus community safe and secure.
Olson also has an excellent reputation for his methodical and thorough investigative abilities that included recent apprehension of an armed robbery suspsect, according to Jaureguy.
After hearing the broadcast for a nearby armed robbery while on patrol, Olson located the vehicle and conducted a high-risk stop leading to the arrest of a suspect for which he received a letter of commendation from the Stanislaus County Sheriff, Adam Christianson.
“Where Steve has really excelled is in his dedication to excellence in his work, his relationships with the public, and his commitment to the CSU Stanislaus community,” Chief Jaureguy said. “Each day Corporal Olson illustrates the epitome of a public servant, putting others first and placing service above self.”
