Knife wielding man shot by SJSU Officer


supasanjosepressreleaseSAN JOSE (KCBS) – A knife-wielding man was hit with a stun gun and later shot by a police officer near San Jose State University’s campus, according to police and witnesses.

Several San Jose police cruisers and emergency vehicles surrounded the intersection of S. 8th Street and E. San Salvador on the south end of the campus near, student-housing units. First responders were dispatched to the location at 10:59 a.m.

SJSU police Capt. Alan Cavallo said a campus police officer shot the suspect, who was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for treatment. Cavallo did not immediately have information on the person’s condition. The SJSU officer was not injured during the altercation.
